DAY 01: GUWAHATI- SHILLONG
Arrive at Guwahati LGBI airport. Received and proceed to Shillong (110 kms/03 hrs)- capital of Meghalaya, located at an altitude of 1496 m is one of the largest hill stations of India. Enroute visit Umium Lake. On arrival Check in at the hotel and overnight stay at Shillong.
DAY 2: SHILLONG – MAWLYNNONG –DAWKI- CHERRAPUNJEE
Drive to Mawlinnong village (90 kms/03 hrs) is claimed to be the cleanest village in Asia. Mawlynnong village takes its position for its cleanliness. The people of this village have joined their hands to keep their village litter free.
Also walk to the living root – bridge near the village. These bridges are unique formations built by the secondary roots of the rubber trees. The local people net the roots with each other to form a ropeway like structure which after about 100 years becomes strong enough to be used as a bridge to cross the hilly streams.
Also drive to Dawki a small but busy town in the East Jaintia Hills district near the Indo-Bangladesh border. On arrival at Dawki visit Indo – Bangladesh border check post and enjoy the boating at Umngot River(at your own cost) which flows through dawki is one of the cleanest river with clear blue water. Drive continue to cherrapunjee. Night stay at cherrapunjee.
DAY 03 - CHERRAPUNJEE- SHILLONG
Explore Cherrapunjee, a small town located on the southern edge of Khasi Hills, a dissected plateau at an altitude of about 4823 feet (1484 m) above mean sea level. It is known as the rainiest rain – belt in the world. The lovely town is also famous for its limestone caves and orange honey. However, in 1985 Mawsynram surpasses the title of Cherrapunjee as the wettest place on Earth by recording an annual rainfall of 11,872 mm (above 39 feet).At cherrapunjee visit Mawsmai Falls, Seven Sisters Falls, Nohkalikai Falls, Koh Ramhah and Khrem Falls. Return back to shillong. Enroute visit Shillong Peak and Elephant falls (subject to availability of time). Night stay at Shillong.
DAY 04: SHILLONG TO KAZIRANGA NATIONAL PARK - 290Km in 7 Hrs by car
After breakfast drive to Kaziranga National Park.On arrival at Kaziranga Check in at your resort.
Kaziranga- The destination that drags the name Assam in the world Tourist map is Kaziranga national Park. A UNESCO World Heritage site and a Tiger Reserve the park is World famous of the one Horned
Rhinoceros. Kaziranga also boast the highest density of tiger and was declared as a tiger reserve in the
Year of 2006. The Park has more than 450 species of birds, 18 of them are globally threatened species. The Bengal Florican is the main attraction. Because of the varied habitat types that the Park comprises of, birding in Kaziranga is very special. Apart from the tigers and Rhino and different birds the park is also home to other animals like Buffalo, Asiatic Elephant, Sambar, hog deer, swamp deer and wild boar. The varied terrain provides habitat for wetland, grassland, and woodland species.
Dinner and overnight at Kaziranga.
DAY 05: KAZIRANGA NATIONAL PARK - GUWAHATI (230Km in 5 Hrs by car)
Post breakfast enjoy jeep safari in the western range of the park which is good to Spot One horn Rhinoceros , Water buffalo , Asiatic Elephant , Hog/Swamp deers , Sambar and if you are fortunate then Tiger also. Post lunch drive to Guwahati , evening visit Srimanta Sankardev kalashetra - the showcase of Assamese tradition and culture. Night stay at Guwahati.
DAY 06: GUWAHATI – DEPARATURE
Early morning proceed to visit Maa Kamkhya Temple – one of the most sacred Hindu pilgrim , later drive continue to Airport for onward destination.
