After breakfast, leave for a full day excursion to Sonmarg via Hazratbal Shrine, Ganderbal, Kangan and Mamar. The drive from Srinagar to Sonmarg is very beautiful as you pass through towns and villages, with paddy fields and rivers flowing alongside at many places. The name Sonmarg is derived from two Kashmiri words “Son” and “Marg” meaning “Gold” and “Meadow” — together, the “Meadow of Gold”. Situated at an altitude of 9,000 ft, Sonmarg lies in the Sindh Valley, streamed with flowers and surrounded by mountains. The place is also the base for interesting treks to high-altitude Himalayan lakes. Ponies can be hired for a trip up to Thajiwas glacier, a major local attraction during summer. Drive back from Sonmarg to Srinagar.

After breakfast, drive to Pahalgam via the saffron fields of Pampore. A walk amidst the purple-coloured saffron fields is a one-off experience. Visit Apple Valley and the bat factory on the way. Pahalgam — the “Valley of Shepherds” — is surrounded by snow-clad mountains with dense forests of pine and deodar, vast meadows and a fresh fast-running river. The natural beauty makes it a popular hill station of India. You can go trekking along the mountainous path, enjoy a pony ride to nearby places like Chandanwadi (on direct hire basis), or take a peaceful walk along the River Lidder. Pahalgam is famous for trekking routes and is the base camp for the Amarnath pilgrimage.
Overnight Stay: Pahalgam

After breakfast, drive to Gulmarg via Tangmarg. Gulmarg — the “Meadow of Flowers” at 2,730 metres above sea level — has one of the best ski slopes in the world and the highest 18-hole golf course in the world. Later visit the local market in Gulmarg. One can also view Nanga Parbat if weather permits. The view en route from Tangmarg to Gulmarg is fascinating. One can also take a short trek up to Khilanmarg (about 3 to 4 hours) or enjoy the scenic view of Kongdori on the Gondola cable car (on direct pay basis).

After breakfast, drive to Srinagar and enjoy the famous Mughal Gardens — Cheshma Shahi (Royal Spring), Shalimar (Garden of Love), Nishat (Garden of Pleasure) and Shankaracharya Temple.
